The Moon Cannot Be Stolen

A Zen master named Ryokan lived a simple and peaceful life in a small hut. One evening, a thief entered his hut, only to find there was nothing to steal. Ryokan returned and caught the thief, saying, “You have come a long way to visit me, and you should not return empty-handed. Please take my clothes as a gift.”

The confused thief took the clothes and fled into the night. Ryokan, sitting naked under the moonlight, said, “Poor fellow, I wish I could give him this beautiful moon.”

True wealth cannot be stolen. When you have inner peace and contentment, material possessions are insignificant.
